On behalf of the Florida Turfgrass Association Board of Directors, I am happy to invite you to join us for the 67th Annual FTGA Conference & Show. We are excited to be hosting this year's event at the beautiful Omni ChampionsGate Resort in Kissimmee. The Omni offers a number of luxury amenities including the Mokara Spa and an extensive array of pools and water features for all ages, so consider making it a family event.
The Conference kicks off on Monday wit the traditional golf tournament, which is hosted by two courses for the first time. The popular scramble will take place on the Greg Normal designed National Course at Omni ChampionsGate featuring newly-renovated 'Champion' putting greens. For more ambitious shooters, the individual stroke Florida GCSA team qualifier will be held at the beautiful Lake Nona Golf and Country Club. After a break following the day's golf, Sports Turf Tour and CORE CEUs events, relax and catch the sunset and our Opening Reception at Champions Hall.
On Tuesday morning, you can catch breakfast at the Industry Networking Event before making the rounds to hear about and see the latest offerings from your favorite show sponsors and vendors. After the Awards Lunch, we have a great lineup in the works for the Education Workshops, thanks again to Dr. Laurie Trenholm. Don't miss out on the fun at the Tuesday night Corn Boil cookout where the annual raffle will be held to benefit the Florida Turf Research Foundation.
Wednesday morning starts with the Annual Meeting Breakfast including association updates, business and elections. The show's final event will be a combined education session focusing on the timely topics of glyphosate use and water resources quality, both of wich have made headlines in Florida and across the U.S. this year. We can all surely benefit from a better understanding of these issues. Be sure to mark your calendars, and we look forward to seeing you there.
